During the General Business Meeting on September 3rd Gordon Steiner and Troy Barry were each presented Certificates of Appreciation by Commander Peter Koerner in recognition of their outstanding contributions to our Post.  

Post 42 said farewell today to Jaime “Shadow” Schloeman and Lynn Bush-Salazar at the General Business Meeting, thanking them for years of tireless service. They are headed to Tennessee and will be missed. We wish them the best in their new home in the Volunteer State.

Post 42 member Peter Trivizas passed away on August 25, 2026.  A service was held on August 31st at St. Demetrios Church in Chicago, IL.  Obituary here

Members, families, and neighbors turned out for food, music, and a real summer afternoon. Kids ran the place. The Red Cross held a blood drive, and we packed a van of donations for veterans leaving homelessness. Thanks to Wojo and the volunteers who made hard work look easy. That’s Post 42: take care of families and the community, and have a good time doing it.
